If I could only own five handguns in .45 ACP, these would be it. There are a lot of good options out there that were not included in this list. Out of all of them, the 1911 is my favorite followed closely by the Glock 21. If you have any suggestions or comments please leave them below. Thanks for watching.

  1. Glock is a 9mm design, Sig P220 is a 45acp design. Stick with the original designs, HK USP is a 40 Cal design and so on. Designs is other Calibers are just after thoughts.

  2. I realize they can be a little scarce but the 45 everyone should own is a SigP220. I have one from the early 2000s before the 320 got Sigs absolute attention. By far the most accurate 45 out of the box ever. A true piece of machinery.

  3. As of right now I got a p226 9mm and considering moving up to .45acp

Since I live in nyc where we are oppressed by a bloomberg and other gun/magazine rellated laws it would be pointless for me to get a pistol that could handle +10 rounds therefore getting a 1911 would make a perfect sense.

  4. As a Canadian I find you Americans completely gun crazy. Goes well as most of you are war mongers and insanely violent. The way to FINISH the USA is to let them do it themselves. Airlift in several thousands gallons of whiskey and cases of ammunition and watch them blast each other like the fools they are.

  5. Every time I open my range suitcase I hear a " Whow – H&K USP Match .45 Auto 2 tone – awesome " Never hear`d someone say : " Whow, awesome Glock U have there…"

  6. P220 with the new E2 grips is perfect if you ask me, lightweight and reliable, the CZ 97 would be perfect if they lost that ugly round chamber indicator plate, thats a deal breaker for me which sucks because its the best shooting 45acp pistol. 1911s have a strong reputation for jaming and saftys will get you killed and a dated design.

  7. My department utilizes the M&P 45. It does shoot nice but I got to say that I like my Springfield XDM .45 quite a bit more. Then again that’s only my opinion cause I shoot my Springfield much more often.

  8. I think in general the .45 is an excellent full size duty round. The 9mm is great for the civilian concealed market, using a 3 inch barrel (Taurus G2c) for example. Every caliber has its place I believe.

  9. Why would I want a cartridge which is so slow that it couldn't penetrate vintage 1933 body armour? There is a reason why the Texas rangers dropped using the .45 ACP by 1934 and adopted the .38 Super.
